if the ref had shown a red card to their no6 in the first half for his 2 footed challenge he would have stamped his authority on the game as it was he lost the plot allowing an injured player back on when in a position to collect the ball and run through on goal. As it was our performance lacked bottle and we didnt do the basics well. a couple of very tough away games to come now before our next home game when hopefully some of the 1800 petition signing local folk will be back of their hols

You are right about Ponds two footed challenge in first half.
Ref should have put his foot down early doors but it drifted on and into mayhem by the finish.
Our lad Allen was supreme today and almost won the game on his own.
We played well and your stewards did a cracking job trying to sort out our drunken nuisance support behind the goal.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

I agree with both comments but any team scoring 4 away from home deserves the spoils. How Stuart Beech got sent off I don't know. The Ref had no idea but his incompetency didn't change the game at all.

To say the ref didn't change the outcome is ridiculous. Fleetwood should have been down to 10 men for an hour. a lack of thought and guts was on show and i'm sure things will get better but they'll need to. 200+ crowd was expected but only 2 behind the bar, that's probably why it was shut so the Chairman didn't have to break sweat.

I saw the incident which led to Stuart Beech being sent off, him and Andy Hayward were pushing and elbowing each other, Hayward knocked Beech over and then kicked him in the stomach, the Fleetwood defenders all piled in on Hayward and one point Hayward and Walshaw were fighting with 6 Fleetwood players, the linesman came on to try and break it up and then eventually the referee realised soemthing was up and came back up to the other end of the ground, he had a word with the linesman and the ref sent off Beech, i then expected him to send off Hayward but he didn't even speak to him, i am pretty sure that was the Fleetwood players were angry about and it led indirectly to the second Fleetwood player being sent off, because he had lost his head.

What puzzled me about the bar closing was the stewards opening the gates at half-time to let the "potential hooligans" go for a drink in Ossett as our bar was closed to them. Subsequently they were all allowed re-entry FOC after paying for their ale elsewhere. I spoke with both Chairman & Vice-Chairman at half-time as I personally thought they were a touch worse for wear and in high spirits and certainly didn't seem to be looking for bother. Closing the bar looks like we can't accept defeat or being behind if fans wish to sing about it. In hindsight we would have been better keeping the bar open as it was at full-time and employed the stewards to prevent Fleetwood spectators getting too near Benno in goal as they had done during the first half.
