OSSETT TOWN JUNIORS – UNDER 8’s
Ossett Town Tigers 2 v 0 Howden Clough B
The Tigers put in a below par performance but still managed a win against a much improved Howden Clough. Town took time to get into their stride with Sam Ghomis’ goal settling the whole team. A superb strike from Tyler Khan sealed the victory. Captain Joe Connolly was named player of the match following a gritty display.

Town’s U8’s put in an outstanding display to brush-a-side a good Howden Clough side.
Edward Furlong started the rout following up a Lewis Watson effort which set the tempo as Town dominated throughout.
Adam Finney hit Town’s second before a superb 30 yard lob from Sam Howitt.
Sam Howitt rounded things if with his brace and Town’s fourth. The whole team earned player of the match award for a very impressive display.

Match report 14/01/07
Ossett Town Under 9s Vs Woodkirk Valley
Terriers won 3-2
The Terriers pick themselves up from last week’s defeat to earn a well deserved win against a strong Woodkirk side. Ossett went 1-0 down after 10 minutes when Woodkirk took a quick short corner that Ossett failed to close down, Woodkirk whipped the ball into the danger area and a goalmouth scramble saw Woodkirk poke the ball home. Ossett kept their heads up with Luke Gothard and Alex Broadhead fighting for every ball in midfield. The Terriers equalized on 15 minutes with a defensive clearance from Edward Medley finding Tom Wilson on his own in the Woodkirk box, Tom Wilson killed the ball with his first touch and slotted the ball in the corner of the net. Half time 1-1. The Terriers went 2-1 down straight from the kick off, Ossett’s defence failed to clear the ball and Woodkirk fired home with a fine shot. The Terriers responded immediately with Tom Wilson getting behind Woodkirk's defence, Luke Gothard threaded through a perfect ball for Tom Wilson to score his second. Danny Bell made some fantastic tackles in defence to keep Woodkirk back. Ossett clinched the winning goal on 25 minutes when Connor Rigg battled for the ball at the edge of the Woodkirk box, Connor managed to squeeze the ball to Luke Gothard who poked the ball home. Teamwork and effort won Ossett this game, Man of the match went to every player because every player deserved it.
Tigers won 2-0
The Tigers also worked extremely hard for this victory. Luke Herries and Adam Wilson were strong in defence closing every Woodkirk attack quickly. Jack Harrop held the ball well and every pass he made found an Ossett player. The first half saw few chances with both teams cancelling each other out. Half time 0-0. Ossett came out strong in the second half with Danny Hayward and Josh Pamment making strong runs from midfield. Danny Hayward opened the scoring on 25 minutes with a fine left foot shot into the roof of the net from a Josh Pamment through ball. Ossett never looked back and Woodkirk struggled to gain possession. Danny Hayward added a second goal after a great shot from Jack Harrop was stopped on the six yard box, Danny was the quickest to react and his first time shot left the Woodkirk keeper no chance. Man of the match went to Jack Harrop.
