Whilst the meeting on Monday provided some sorry scenes, it means at last that Ossett Town Football & Social Club is now being controlled by the members who actually care about it! i've read the ridiculous claims that the executive committee who have, creditibly, gained so much success being 'booted out by lunatics!' - if the old executive committee were so in favour of Ossett Town AFC then why on earth attempt to close it down and move out of the town to cohort with the expensive failure that is Dewsbury Rams!!! Wakefield & Emley anyone?!!? It seems justice to the community of Ossett that Ossett Town AFC stays where it is, thanks for the hard work Mr Thomson but don't gamble a mere personal pipedream with a club that belongs to the members. The most ridiculous suggestion that I have seen on this forum is that the 'new exec' are a bunch of fools, the very fact of the matter is- if a proper preparation for a potential merger had been organised without going behind the backs of the members and with a certain degree of professionalism then perhaps these 'lunatics' might have had a listen!! Certain members of the previous exec smacked of hypocrisy, lies, deceit and have duely been removed - A bit of advice to Mr Thomson, if you've now got a bit of spare time on your hands, why don't you go give a hand down at Wakefield & Emley, rumour has it that their 'merger of the century' went the same way as a snowflake in a heatwave and have begun again under the title 'Emley' (the one that served its purpose and achieved great success). But then again, I'm sure Mr Thomson wouldn't want to associate with 'lunatics'!! Hooray to the new exec - maybe the members might be asked their opinion on the odd matter or two now!! ;D Jim Expensive failure that is Dewsbury Rams.......... I wonder if you have ever visited this failure!! You obviously have many axes to grind - please dont include the Rams in your angst and vitriol, keep them for the inner wranglings of your football and not so very social football club. Thanks

Jim Where are you?If you were in the meeting on Monday then you were in a privileged position. More privileged than most of us, however you seemed to want enter the fray but now don't want to know now You are probably one of those with so much to protect not in terms of tradition but in terms of free beer or a cosy little number.

As I was not there on monday, would it be possible to know the names of the new exec, or is that secret?

Quick message for Jim, do you not get tired of being the mouthpiece for the dirty dozen or so who obviously only ever wanted to get rid of Phil Thompson ! It seems to me that , given he has only served to improve the club no end since his involvement ( along with other football minded souls) it can only be that they are worried he will also end up exposing their clandestine ways which are those of self interest and profit. It seems to me, as an interested observer, that you also have a hidden agenda, one which may revolve around your pocket and not the interests of the club as a whole. It really does appear the only way forward for Ossett Town is a complete new committee, exec and general, made of of people who have the clubs interests at heart. They should all have to sign a legally binding agreement that they will not profit as individuals from any sale of the club or otherwise. In this way they have no conflict and can act for the good of all. COME ON JIM, WOULD YOU SIGN SUCH A DOCUMENT. PUT YOUR HAND UP IF YOU GENUINELY HAVE THE INTERESTS OF THE CLUB AT HEART! The same goes for all the members. Do you want a successful club, or just a handy place for a pint and any other extras you can get ?
Ossett Town can go places, or just be a backstreet pub team, which do you want ?
I certainly know what all the juniors and parents of juniors, plus TRUE club supporters want !
Come on Firth , Hitch and Co, forget your pockets and your convenient boozer, and think about football for a change. OH, AND JIM, JUST THINK FOR ONCE !!!!!!!!!!!!

I think Jim making references about selling houses and not knowing about it needs to realise it may require a little more expertise and diplomacy selling a piece of land than the selling of the Sunday Sport.
