Develop Ingfield?? At what cost and does this include a better pitch better club facilities and a respectable playing area for the juniors. I heard they were hoping to buy the land at the back of the club in order to have some mini-soccer pitches, but Why?? If it's for Junior football why not allow the juniors to have a say in club affairs as they may prefer to be involved in discussions rather than being used as a pawn in the apparent concern for football stakes

Let the juniors have a say. Like Mr Hitch the Junior Vice -Chairman for example . He really has the kids interests at heart like asking them to throw a game to allow another ossett team to benefit. The less involvement from the juniors the better.

No the less involved that Paul Hitch is the better!
Unfortunately though The Hitch family is part of the inner clique that is headed by Martin Voakes.
I have been informed this afternoon that Martin Voakes has taken it upon himself to inform the Board of Directors at Dewsbury that Ossett Town will not be accepting their offer of a 50%share in the Tetley's Stadium.
Martin Voakes is also due to write to Tesco's and turn down their offer to purchase Ingfield.
I don't remeber the Members attending an AGM and voting to turn down Tesco's and Dewsbury
The arrogance of those few Members who now have control of the club has reached ridiculous proportions! What are they afraid of?
The opinions and wishes of ordinary people who support the club along with the many other people who manage Junior teams, ex-players, parents, volunteers, sponsors and anyone else who has a vested interest in Ossett Town are being ignored completely.
Why does'nt the Executive Committee hold an open meeting for all involved to have the facts laid bare and canvass the wishes of the many people who care about the club. There are a lot of people who, through no fault of their own, are not Members. The Membership has been closed for eight years.
This issue is far too big for those lucky enough to be Members to vote on without first hearing from everyone associated with the club.
I urge anyone who has the best interests of Ossett Town AFC and Ossett Town Juniors to make themselves heard before its too late!
We should demand an open forum and some clarity about what is actualy on offer! We should insist that our wishes are taken into consideration before any decision is made.
Also there is no reason for the Membership to remain closed! There is a legal document which can be signed by any new Member which would prevent anyone from making a monetary gain form being accepted as a Member!
If you have put in long service in any way shape of form then you should demand your right to apply for Membership and none of this silly beinga social member for 5 years either.
Basicly if you have demonstrated your intentions via a long standing association or by volunteering or any other type of contribution then your eligability should be considered on merit!
To do nothing now would be to play into the hands of those people who do not want the club to progress because of their own selfish reasons.

Is this the same Martin Voakes who up until about 6 weeks ago hadn't watched a full game all season and certainly hadn't been to an away game. A man who is voted on as vice-chairman to oppose the move and now has become Ossett Town's No1 fan. No doubt discussing it all with the chairman who he employs

The less involvement from the juniors the better. word has got around ossett about mr hitch and his game throwing, what kind of development is that for the kids, its cheating when all said and done, but other ossett town junior teams shouldnt be tarred with the same brush as mr hitch as most of them are genuine and honest

I have just received a message from Tim Asbury that he has resigned from the executive committee at Ossett Town. This really does send shockwaves through the club, another tireless volunteer who has helped on all aspects and over the last few years has forged closer links with juniors and seniors. Personally I know he felt a little frustrated over the recent no-confidence vote but would like to thank him publicly on behalf of the FOOTBALL club for all he has done stewarding, behind the bar, organising - the list is endless. Cheers Tim

Mr Vice Chairman made a fool of himself on saturday afternoon, jumping on seats, knocking over drinks, swearing and threatening anyone who wanted West Ham to win. ;D If that's how he behaves towards people who have a different opinion to him, perhaps its as well Thomo got voted off the committee, there would have been blood and snot all over the committee room wall if Mr Vice Chairman tried calling Thomo a "c**t in front of a room full of people. And this busienss with Hitchy, can we have the gory details please?

The details regarding Mr Hitch as far as I am aware i'm sure someone will correct this if it's wrong are as follows: During the junior gala the u12's A were playing the Under 12's B. The A needed to win so Mr Hitch told the B team to throw the game. This request became totally apparent to all concerned when the B team did not defend a corner and let the A team score. If that alone was not been enough to convince any on looker about match fixing to put the icing on the cake Mr Hitchs request had been heard. Relationships with other teams are well an truly marred Thornes and Rothwell apparently have told Ossett Under 12's they can have their chqs back for their galas they don' want them there.
The moral of Mr Hitch's story is it doesn't matter how you win just as long as you win.
Sympathy must go to all the junior teams who will now carry a grey cloud of OSSETT TOWN JUNIOR CHEATS. Thanks very much Mr JUNIOR VICE CHAIRMAN Hitch.

as anyone rang up Wakefield Express and told them about this? on second thoughts you had better not, would not want Firthy and his stooges getting Special Branch, MI5 and the SAS involved to investigate this disgraceful leak. messers Thompson and Kelly, expect a summons from chadwick Lawrence before long. "The first rule of Ossett Town is, you do not talk about Ossett Town, the second rule of Ossett Town is, you do not talk about Ossett Town" and so on, sage words from Brad Pitt i think. ;D

Developing Ingfield was ruled out back in 2003 by the chairman as it would take 10 years. The members voted unanimously to carry on negotiations until an offerw as on the table , that offer is on the table and ahs been for several weeks, along with a business plan and a deal to leave the clubhouse, portacabin outside toilets outside of the sale price. Dewsbury Rams have indicated there willingness to sell a 50% share of their holdings for a sum well within the budget. Dewsbury have received offers of greater than what we would pay for land surrounding the ground but have resisted until we complete negotiations in order that we would be part of any discussions to sell or develop land. The opportunity presented to Ossett Town is unbelievable and is at least worth a presentation to the members but stalling is not helping

I think its time the record about the U12's was set straight!! 4 teams were entered in the Gala- teams A-D. Paul Hitch was in charge of team C and yes I understand that he told his C team to throw the game against the D team so that the D team went into the semi finals, as opposed to Thornes. This 'match fixing' was brought to the attention of the U12's manager (who was running the A team that day). As soon as he heard he went to the Gala official's along with a member of the junior exec committee and offered to withdraw his A team- who had not been in the same league as the C or D team and who had won their place in the semi final fairly!! It was however agreed between the manager of Thornes and the Gala officials that the Ossett D team and Thornes would play each other to see who went into the semis. This they did, and Thornes won. I am sure that I speak for everyone in the junior section when I say that the actions of a certain individual on Sunday did nothing but harm to Ossett Town juniors, and we must all work together to try to re establish to good name of Ossett Town juniors. Tim Asbury along with the junior managers puts countless hours a week into developing the club and needs the support of all junior parents and players.

i understand the plan of keeping the clubhouse and the car park, but why keep those rat infested portakabins, surely any plan to keep the clubhouse and sell the ground to Tescos would see those portakabins cleared away to make extra room for the car park or for whatever Tescos wanted that area for. And as for those outside toilets, surely they would be cleared as well to make an extension for the clubhouse.
This is all theoretical anyway, because the proposal to move to dEwsbury will probably be thrown out if it ever gets to an AGM.
