I have just received a message from Tim Asbury that he has resigned from the executive committee at Ossett Town. This really does send shockwaves through the club, another tireless volunteer who has helped on all aspects and over the last few years has forged closer links with juniors and seniors. Personally I know he felt a little frustrated over the recent no-confidence vote but would like to thank him publicly on behalf of the FOOTBALL club for all he has done stewarding, behind the bar, organising - the list is endless. Cheers Tim

I thought it was worth mentioning that the recent presentation night at Dewsbury was arranged by Richard Kelly,Tim & Me after the new executive wanted to cancel the event regardless of what had previously been arranged or whether the players deserved a presentation night or not. Tim stepped in with an offer of help as no-one on the new executive had the desire or committment to deliver an event. From what appears to be unfolding the hours of work previously undertaken by the former executive committe members seems to count for nothing and is being disregarded by the apparent lack of activity by the people empowered to run the club. One of the more vocal members to see the old executive voted out was indeed Paul Hitch, now I understand why- we were never going to please a member who stoops to such alarmingly low levels in public. God only knows the depths of his whisperings to the privileged few if this is what can be demonstrated openly.

Once again a clear demonstration of wats wrong with the club. People seem to come and go several of whom do loads of unpaid voluntary work but then for some strange reason they resign. All of the problems are under the Chairmanship of Graham Firth but theres never any direction from him only to appoint his boss as vice-chairman. Tim seems to do evertyhting at Ossett town and now hesresigned itstinks.

Will Paul Hitch now replace Tim as Junior Chairman?

Tim has stood down from exec committee which is nothing to do with juniors at all.

is Tim going to be happy to continue being Junior Chairman knowing his vice chairman has apparently fixed a match? Tim will know Hitchy is well in with Firthy and vokesy so its not as though Tim could force Hitchy out.
You can work as hard as you want for the club, but if you are not in that inner circle, then you might as well as urinate in the wind.

Yet another :(sad sad day for Ossett Town. Another nail in the coffin. Gone another executive member who has worked tirelessly for the benefit of the club . Glad to see that he will still remain with the Juniors despite the shame brought on the Juinors by the earlier mentioned Mr Hitch. Does anyone who is left on the committee have any interest in the club as a football club ???Or would i be right to presume it will soon be a social club with a field, available for hire for social kickabout.
Thanks Tim for your tireless work - I'm sure all those who have any football interest appreciate the amount of unpaid time and effort you have given to the club.

Firthy and Vokesy don't have anything to do with the Juniors!!!!!!
I would have thought this will be the decision of the Junior set up. Unless Mr Hitch has already done the only decent thing and resigned his post and involvement with the juniors but i doubt it. Decent and Hitch can't go together in the same sentence otherwise he wouldn't have caused such shame and embarassment to the club.

my apologies for misunderstanding the exact set up of the juniors and the relationship between the juniors and the senior club.
But i think my point still stands, the senior club (as it is run at the moment) could make life very difficult for Tim and the juniors in general if they take action against Hitchy.
on another point, someone mentioned that Thornes Juniors and Rothwell were unhappy about what happened last Sunday, will it be fair to assume those clubs will be reporting Ossett Town to the West Riding?

yes it is a sad day for the club!
Unfortunately there are probably many more sad days to come if the current Exec continue to perform in the manner thay have so far.
With one or two notable exceptions there is no-one with football at heart on the Exec.
The plans to turn Ossett Town AFC into a members only speak easy is well underway.
Thanks ,Tim, for all the hard work and endevour that you have put in. I can honestly say that I've always found you to be up front, honest and with nothing but the interests of Ossett Town football at heart.

At the moment the club is in a mess. what mr hitch has done is a joke and he should be kicked out. the club needs to go forward and it wont with a commitee like the one we have. It needs sorting or we wont have a bloody club. Also we need a reserves, all the class coming through and nowhere to go after the academy. The academy doesn't get as much press as the juniors. Thats also stupid as it is more important. What we need is a commitee that wants to help the club and not in it for themselves.

Good post "player" you've touched on some very important, yet very much ignored issues there. I think that "Mr Hitch" has not only brought shame upon him self, but most importantly the CLUB. I personally wish to never see this "man" in our club again, a banning order would be appropriate, but some how i don't think it is likely. Other than announcing the substitutes what does he actually do anyway? Then onto the academy/reserves situation. Firstly i don't think there is enough interest shown towards the academy. The academy section of the website is proof enough. Also is there much point of having such a team, but no reserves? This season the academy has only provided the first team with three players, does that make the academy set up seem worth having? With a reserve side for the majority of the rest of the academy to go into, maybe. Obviously there are more issues involving this club, but i quite simply dont have all night. The committee we have at the club needs a good old change around, but it doesn't look too likely.
