the AGM has not been arranged yet, apparently we're still waiting for the accountants to do their end of year report, i'm no accountant myself but i'm sceptical about why it takes so long to do the accounts for a part time football club. Perhaps Thomo has a bit more insight in to why there is a delay in calling the AGM.

The AGM was planned to be called at the end of June in the hope of ratifying two sets of accounts at once i.e. 04/05 &05/06. 04/05 accounts were ready as were the exec to call an AGM at end of March, reason for delay then was difficulty obtaining professional clearance from previous auditors?? There is a delay with 05/06 from their initial timescale but in fairness it's not really a delay if you look at previous years. I can't understand why an AGM wasn't called in March/April, accounts presented along with usual business plus details of the Rams offer. When 05/06 are ready call 06 AGM and vote on the Rams offer where members had a reasonable period to weigh up options along with any other resolutions that may seem fit. I'm away very shortly to Spain with the U-17's and have requested the procedure for nominating a proxy at the AGM to ask any questions I may have. I have actually received a response to that letter advising as our constitution doesn't mention proxy- I can't have one! I've said all along I won't be surprised if the AGM is called when I'm away however when it is called I hope the members get accounts, agenda and a reasonable period of notice of the date. I think this is the longest gap between AGM's in the clubs history which is surprising as Martin Voakes' address regarding the vote of no confidence opened by expressing dissatisfaction at the delay in calling an AGM. I think we had genuine reason with illness and reason mentioned above. This lot have no excuse but they don't need one because quite simply ranks have been closed and information denied.

it wouldn't surprise me at all if an AGM was called while thomo was in Spain, they've pulled this stunt before. A few years ago, before we went into the Unibond, there was a plan to move the club up to a proposed sports village at the top of Queens Drive, some of the football people were in favour of this move, but the EGM to discuss the proposals was arranged for the same night Ossett Town were away at Bradford Park Avenue in the county cup, so the football people were not able to attend the EGM (and therefore vote for the move) because they were on duty in Bradford. If i remember right there was only a small margin between the "yes" and "no" votes, the people opposed to the move winning.

I got my dates mixed up when I would be away. I'm actually back now and checking the old diary I have a free slot on the 19th as I thought I would be away.

2 big sponsorships - I wonder if a previous suggestion of mine has been followed whereby we contact say Somerfield and Co-Op offering an agreement where we dont sell for a period of say 5 years in return for a lump of cash. That said the option is a good business decision if the money is right and been discussed by the members as a weighing up of all opportunities. Any exclusivity clauses are typically 1% of land value so it may be a decent chunk- let's hope so 'cos some of it is already spoken for.
